What does pre-IPO actually tell an investor?
A private company's financing plans do not guarantee that an IPO will occur. Private securities can have transfer restrictions, limited disclosure and no readily available market. A funding valuation is not necessarily a price available to every investor.
Questions and sources to check
Verify management's actual statements, offering documents, eligibility restrictions and the rights attached to a specific share class. Keep a possible future listing separate from an exchange listing that already exists.
